Rebekah Perethian, Executive Director
As Executive Director, Rebekah provides leadership and oversight of all programs and services and is responsible for the consistent achievement of the Center’s mission and financial objectives. Rebekah graduated from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She first joined our team as the Family Advocate in February of 2018 and was promoted to Executive Director in March 2020. Rebekah is trained in ChildFirst to better understand the conducting of forensic interviews and is an authorized facilitator in Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children training. She is a graduate of Leadership Lumpkin County and Leadership White County and currently serves as co-chair of Lumpkin County Domestic Violence Taskforce. She is passionate about helping others in the community and believes wholeheartedly in the quote, “We change the world when we simply meet the needs of another”-Kristen Welch
Carlyn Hearn, Family Advocate
Carlyn has worked with children and families in a variety of settings since she graduated from Young Harris College with a bachelor’s degree in Human Communications Studies with a minor in Appalachian Studies. Carlyn currently works with parents and caregivers of children and teens effected by child abuse, advocating for them through the investigative forensic interview and medical exam process, and working with them through the healing process and connecting them with resources and services. She is trained in ChildFirst and is a facilitator in Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children training. She is also trained in A Window Between Worlds. This allows her to facilitate creative art workshops using a trauma-informed approach.
Megan Holcombe, Family Advocate
Megan Holcombe is a native to Flowery Branch, Georgia. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Criminal Justice. While at college, she was an active member of Kappa Delta sorority, and was able to learn more about this career field through opportunities with non-profit organizations. Back in 2016, she worked hands-on in fundraising for South Enotah Child Advocacy Center, and instantly fell in love with our non-profit and what it stands for. For her last semester in school, she had the opportunity to intern with our facility and now serves as our Family Advocate for our Parent Education Program!
Kristin Jarrard, Forensic Interviewer
Kristin Jarrard is a native to Cleveland, Georgia. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Criminal Justice. She then received her master’s in Forensic Psychology from the University of North Dakota. During her time at the University of North Dakota, she interned with South Enotah Child Advocacy Center and found her passion in forensic interviewing. Shortly after completing her degree, she was trained in ChildFirst and is authorized to conduct forensic interviews. She believes that every child deserves to have their story heard and is happy to play a role in serving the children in our community.
